Well, the weekend is just

Well, the weekend is just about over. I’ll head to bed in a few minutes and wake up for another week of work. It was a great weekend though. Friday night was GNO. G-irls N-ight O-ut. The plan was to go to dinner and a bar. We didn’t make it past dinner. We had a yummy meal, but after a long weekend and a good meal, we ended up too tired to proceed. Well, not me, but many of the others. I was ready to go. :-( Ah well, GNO is a once a month event, so maybe next time.

Saturday was my favorite. We have a new theater in our city. You see, I’m very picky about my movie theater. Until now, my husband and I drove 30 minutes to get to the theater I preferred. It is a multi-plex with love-seat, stadium-style seating and huge screens. Our little city only had these crappy rinky-dink theaters with horrible seating, lousy service and poor temperature controlling. Alas, they have opened a new theater just 5 minutes from home. It was a beautiful thing. It has stadium seating, large screens and the nicest employees ever. To top it off we saw Secondhand Lions…the greatest movie of all time!

Today we hung out at home. Stayed in our pj’s all day and cuddled on the couch. We watched The Life of David Gale amongst other cable movies and lazed around all day. It was also a beautiful thing!

I did this little ink

I did this little ink blot test and the results said:

You have a subconscious mind is driven most by Curiosity. People who have unconscious minds driven by curiosity tend to be inquisitive types who enjoy considering new ideas. They can also be highly intellectual.

That was a fun little ditty I picked up from Dusty! Oh and Dusty, I only read your first response before I clicked the link to get more information. So my answers aren’t tainted by any one else’s thoughts. Fun that we still ended up with some matching words!

Okay, now for all the excitement. Mike and I purchased new furniture for our living room today! YAY! I’m so damned excited. We bought a new couch, loveseat, cocktail table and end table. Our living room is currently a hodgepodge of various furniture that we accumulated either by hand-me-down or yard/garage sale. It is scheduled for delivery on 10/07, so it will be here before my next Mah Jongg party! Woot! Okay, starting the count down: 13 days before delivery.

What a lovely evening! Each

What a lovely evening! Each summer I run a membership drive for our local community playhouse. I had the honor of receiving an award for selling the most corporate memberships this year. Along with the award, the playhouse took my husband and I out for a limo ride and dinner and tonight was the night it was scheduled.

It was a great deal of fun. We showed up at the playhouse, met with the others involved and took off for our limo ride to the restaurant. We had appetizers: Crab and Lobster Al Forno – A rich and creamy blend of crab and lobster baked with spinach, artichoke and mascarpone cheese. Served with herbed flat bread AND Formaggi di Capra – Garlic and herb flavored goat cheese baked with marinara sauce and served with parmesan crisps. Hungry yet? Next we shared the House Salad – Mixed greens tossed with carrots, cucumbers, roasted red peppers and pine nuts in an herb-garlic balsamic dressing. I love pine nuts on anything! The dressing was extraordinary. For dinner I had Lasagna Portabello – Layers of pasta, spinach and portabello mushrooms slowly cooked in a three-cheese cream sauce. Hungry now? It was soooooo good. The sauce was like an alfredo sauce and the portabellows and spinach were so fresh and delicious. To finish the evening…Creme Brulee – Vanilla custard topped with a layer of caramelized sugar. You have to be hungry now. :-)

Then a ride back to the playhouse. It was a lovely evening with delicious food and splendid company. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. A special thanks to my wonderful husband who doesn’t like to meet new people or try new foods. I know it wasn’t easy for him to accompany me, but he handled it with style and grace and, as usual, he made me proud. I love you, Baby.

Well, I hope my baby

Well, I hope my baby had a nice birthday. He got some cool stuff!

A drafting table & graphics tablet.  So he can keep making that artwork that he makes so well.  Friday night we visited his family.  He has a great family.  Three brothers that are strong, honest and loving guys and two excellent parents.  They are all a joy to be with.  Today we went to see Underworld.  I’m a sucker for a good vampire flick and in my opinion this was a good one and good vampire flicks are hard to come by.  I love movies that make me jump in my seat.  This one did it repeatedly.  It was kind of like Romeo and Juliette gone goth with Matrixish special effects.  If you like vampire movies, I’d recommend it.  It tipped off the "goreometer" though, so if you don’t like gore, best stay away.  Well, this little girl needs to be heading to bed.

You see, I have an especially good reason to celebrate. 29 years ago today, the man, who has brought me so much joy to me in our short time together, was born. 29 years ago today, the man, that I will spend the rest of my life loving, was born. 29 years ago today, was a great day in the life of fl0w3r. Special thanks to his parents and God for bringing me such a wonderful gift.

I love you!

1. Who is your favorite

1. Who is your favorite singer/musician? Why?  Jewel is my favorite singer.  I think she has a beautiful voice.  It used to be untainted by other instruments which is something I enjoy.  Her first album was a just a girl and a guitar.  I could listen to it for hours.
2. What one singer/musician can you not stand? Why?  There are many singers/musician that I don’t care for, but not really any that I "can’t stand".  Musicians are artists and each one is different and supposed to be different.
3. If your favorite singer wasn’t in the music business, do you think you would still like him/her as a person?  I don’t even know if I like my favorite singer as a person now.  I don’t know her and could make that type of judgement without knowing her.  So, I don’t think it would matter.
4. Have you been to any concerts? If yes, who put on the best show?  Surprise, suprise…my favorite concert was the Jewel – Tiny Lights conference.  An entire concert with just a girl and her guitar.  It was a beautiful thing.
5. What are your thoughts on downloading free music online vs. purchasing albums? Do you feel the RIAA is right in its pursuit to stop people from dowloading free music?  Legally there are copyright laws.  Legally it is right to pursue, however, in my humble opinion, only music pirates should be brought to justice.  Before the internet, friends swapped cassettes.  I can’t count the number of mix tapes I’ve made in my life.  I didn’t package them and sell them though, that is the difference.  On the other hand, if you like an artist enough, you should just buy their CD.  Do a music artist a favor, eh?
