1. What was your first Halloween costume? The first one I remember is Raggedy Ann. I also remember the my Mom died a mop head red for the hair. She spilled the die all over the kitchen floor. The green carpet (it was the 70’s) had a huge reddish stain for years.
2. What was your best costume and why? My favorite was when I was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Complete with glitter covered pumps. I was a teenager so it was perfect. Pretty cute too.
3. Did you ever play a trick on someone who didn’t give you a treat? No
4. Do you have any Halloween traditions? (ie: Family pumpkin carving, special dinner before trick or treating, etc.) My Mom used to have a haunted garage. Once I was too old for trick-or-treating I played the part of the monster in whatever garage set-up we had that year.
5. Share your favorite scary story…real or legend! Well, not much scares me, but I’m pretty sure that I’ve lived in two haunted houses. When I was little we lived in a house (the same one with the red stain) and my bedroom was in the basement. Basically one small area of the full basement was finished. The rest was just your typical basement and there was a wine cellar. The lights would go off and on in the wine cellar. There would be banging noises too. Then the first home I purchased had a haunted bedroom. The cats hated it. They would jump in the air, like cats do when something scares them but for no reason at all. They would just jump, the hair on their back would stand up, the tail would puff up and everything, but there wouldn’t be any reason at all.
Le Diable De Fleur!
Onesome: Cheap– Cheap thrills? Are you and yours doing anything for Halloween? Parties? Trick or treating? Staying home with the lights out and an axe visible in the window? I’m going to stay home with my handsome hubby and hand out candy (for the first year in our home) to the neighborhood children.
Twosome: wax– Hey, are you a ‘candle person’? I mean, is that one of your decorating motifs? …or does this fall under something like the “No Sharp Objects” rule in your life? I’m somewhere in the middle. I like candles, but I rarely purchase them. So, whatever candles I have, I’ve received as a gift. I burn them on occassion, but usually they just remain decor.
Threesome: treatment– Speaking of treatments: do you decorate for Fall? Halloween? Thanksgiving? …or just pretend that deceased plant in the corner really just lost its leaves for the winter? I have decorations for Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving and about every other year, I get ambitious enough to bring them out of storage and display them.
My husband is the sweetest guy in the world. Don’t believe me? Check out the first paragraph in his latest post. It’s a great way to start my day. I’m just dying to hear his political rant too. You will likely never meet someone more passionate about their convictions and beliefs than my husband, so it should be a great read. Stay tuned.
I’d like to announce a few of the newest blogs that I have added to my daily reads:
Vermont Ramblings: A very attractive blog with many interesting topics. Her posts are well-written, easy and fun to read.
I Am Pariah: Now this guy has some talent. The site design is amazing. His posts are always a joy to read. He’s also the keeper of the Memes list that you see on just about every Meme blog. I hope to add The Tuesday Iffers to his list soon. Oh yeah, don’t forget the Saturday Slant! His most recent slant inspired one kick-@$$ bubble bath for this lovely fl0w3r grrl.
and last but certainly not least…
Otto’s New Pad: Check out all the goodies here. Otto makes blinkies to share with everyone and also puts up the Monday Madness meme. It is a great site with a bundle of fun stuff for everyone!
I know of at least one more blog that will be added in the near future, so keep an eye out!
1. Do you still trick or treat? No, but I look forward to trick or treating with my kids someday.
2. What are you afraid of? I’m not sure I’m really afraid of anything. I don’t think I’d ever let something have that much control. I can tell you that I don’t like bees and wasps or wild rats.
3. Which is better? White lie, or honesty about something like a bad haircut? You know, it depends on the person you are talking to. I have friends that would rather hear the truth and I have friends that would be devistated by it. I’d always prefer to tell the truth, but not if I think I’m going to hurt a friend, especially not over a flippin’ hair cut.
If you could personally see one natural phenomenon that you’ve never seen, what would it be? Well, I know it isn’t a “natural” phenomenon, but I’d love to see the pyramids. To steal my hubbys idea, I’d be keen on seeing the Northern Lights too. I’m not sure if bigfoot is considered a natural phenomenon or a myth, but I sure would like to see a bigfoot type creature!
My sweet husband made me an angel. I was complaining about how I didn’t like the picture of the angel below especially since her wings were coming out of her head. So, he made me an angel to replace her. Here she is:

I think she’ll probably end up as a permanent picture here on my blog. What do you think?
1. Do you watch any ‘reality shows’ on television? If so, which is your favorite? If not, why? I watch American Idol, Real World and Temptation Island. American Idol is hands down my favorite. I love to sing, so I love to watch others sings. It’s pretty darned fun watching the ones that can’t sing, but think they can. Simon is the greatest too. There wouldn’t be a show without Simon.
2. If you were offered a chance to be a part of any of the reality shows, which one would you choose? Why? Probably Real World. It seams like such an interesting opportunity. You get to go to a new place, meet new people, do whatever job they assign. It would be a worldly experience.
3. If you could pick your own team on ‘Survivor’ what qualities would you look for in the 7 people you would choose? I’ve honestly only ever watched Survivor once. I don’t remember much, but I really don’t think I would expect much from my team mates. You must have a delicate mix of people. I want to say “honesty”, but really it is a cut throat game and it would be pretty difficult to pull that off.
You are Form 2, Angel: The Pure.
“And The Angel rose as holy protector for
all that was created. She fought with honor
and valor to serve the good of the world. But
the coming of the mankind was her downfall; and
end to purity.”
Some examples of the Angel Form are Michael
(Christian) and Hercules (Greek).
The Angel is associated with the concept of virtue,
the number 2, and the element of wind.
Her sign is the zenith sun.
As a member of Form 2, you are a person of your
word. You generally keep your promises and
give everything you do your best. Although
some people see you as overbearing sometimes,
you know that you have to stay true to yourself
and do what’s right. Angels are the best
friends to have because they are brutally
honest.
Which Mythological Form Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla
Although, I think most friends of mine would agree with the brutally honest part.
Do my wings really sprout out from my head though? That is just weird.
1. Do you usually dress up for Halloween? Most years my Mom has a haunted garage and I’m usually the monster.
2. Do you attend any Halloween costume parties or contests? I haven’t in a long time, but I would if the opportunity presented itself.
3. How much, if any, Halloween decorations do you put up in your house or yard? I only have a few decorations and I’m horrible about putting them out. I would like to be much better about it.
4. Do you pass out tricks or treats? If yes, do many trick or treaters stop by your house? Well, this year will be the first year that we’ve handed out treats at our home. So, I’ll probably have an answer for you next year. ![]()
5. What is your favorite Halloween/scary movie? I don’t have a favorite. I really love all scary movies. Except for ‘Scary Movie’…I don’t care for that one at all.
