Happy Thanksgiving everyone! My thankful

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! My thankful list (as seen on Keli’s and Cris’ blogs):

1. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband. I kissed a few frogs, but in the end I truly found a prince. He is so good to me. Every morning that I wake up next to him, I think for a moment about how lucky I am that this beautiful man loves me. He always takes good care of me. Leaves me little notes, like the one below that I found before work one morning last week.

2. I am thankful for my friends, new and old. My life has been rich with friends for many years. Firebrand has been a friend for at least 13 years. Dusty and Cris have been in my life for at least 10 years. There are so many others like Frankie, Michele, Mindy, Val, Jenn, Toni…wow, I could just keep on going. The list is endless. There is also my best friend in the world (see #1). I am blessed with good friends all around me.

3. I am thankful for family. My family is quite “dysfunctional”. I don’t like using that word, because I really think it is just a buzz word of the times, but in my families case it is entirely true. My Mom used to say, “If I had it all to do over again I’d do everything differently.” I would just look at here and say, “Mom, if you did it all differently, I wouldn’t be who I am today.” Life hasn’t been easy and for that I am grateful. I’ve learned how not to do things from my parents. I’ve also learned that I am so strong. I don’t think I’d be this strong if it weren’t for the life I’ve lived thus far.

4. I am thankful for my job. My job keeps me busy and often quite stressed, but in the end I love what I do. I enjoy going to work each morning, I enjoy the people I work with and I really like my boss and the company I work for. I’m grateful to be able to pay the bills while doing something I enjoy.

5. I am thankful for my pets. They bring me joy and they don’t even know it. Last night, I watched Taz-Cee sleep for about 10 minutes, just because she looked to sweet and peaceful. Fizgig is always so full of life and drama. He keeps us entertained. Tigger is our obsessive compulsive cat. He has to have things a certain way or he’ll let you know about it but he is so full of squish sometimes. Nate is our guard cat. She’ll always keep us safe and she is the only cat I’ve ever known that cuddles. If I get lonely at night while Remy is working, I’ll grab Nate and put her next to me in the crook of my arm and under the blanket. She’ll stay there happy as a clam until I move her. Reba is a really good cat. She has to be the least invasive of our mammals. She keeps to herself most of the time, occasionally asking to be noticed. She is the princess and she knows it. No other cat appreciates a good scratch quite like she does. Finally, there is my bingo bird. She is always the first to say hello (before we even get inside the door). First thing in the morning when she sees ya she’ll let out a little wolf whistle. It’s all lies, I know what I look like in the morning, but I’m grateful for her little, whistling, white lies.

An ever-so-wonder friend of mine

An ever-so-wonder friend of mine has been kind enough to burn me a bundle of cd’s. Thanks Dusty! I was having difficulty storing them…until today. I bought a “Romdex”. This nifty gadget helps store and catalog cd’s.

You see, it appears to be a typical storage device…

With a fliptop cover that hides a listing where you catalog your CDs…

Then there is a little slider that you move from to pick out your cd of choice by placing it on the catalog number.
(Since it is a little blury, I have placed the slider on #28, ‘The Life’)…

Open the lid and PRESTO! There is ‘The Life’ CD plucked out of the bundle ready for my listening pleasure…

Isn’t that the coolest? Wanna know where I got it? ACE Hardware! I got it at a friggin’ hardware store and on sale. How great is that?!? Okay, okay, I agree…it doesn’t take much to make me happy. I guess Remy’s got it pretty easy. ;-)

If you had to give

If you had to give up either your hearing or your sight, which would you choose and why? This is a tough one. I’ve suffered from partial hearing loss since I was four years old. I’ve easily adapted and I think, in general, it would probably be easiest to adapt with the loss of hearing. I also think it would be easier to find a job that would accept hearing vs. vision impaired. That being said, I would probably opt for the loss of sight. There are so many things I love that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy if I lost my hearing…music, theater, talk radio, my husbands voice…I just don’t think I’d want to give those things up. So, I’d pick sight.

Brought to you by .

Two new additions to my

Two new additions to my daily reads:

Keli’s Blog = This isn’t the usual fluff. Keli often touches on very serious topics many which have to do with the Catholic church. We don’t always agree but her post always make for an informative read. She is extremely intelligent and it shows.

Sentinal’s Perch = A friend of Cris. He actually uses an online journal for what it is intended. Makes for a good read.

1. List five things you’d

1. List five things you’d like to accomplish by the end of the year. That is a tough one. I suppose my ambitions are either low or I’m just content, but all I’d really like to do is maintain this wonderful life I live with my adoring, funny, smart and devistatingly handsome husband. I wouldn’t mind getting pregnant too.

2. List five people you’ve lost contact with that you’d like to hear from again. There are several friends I made during my childhood that I’d love to reconnect with. In fact just recently I was remembering a little boy named Josh that lived in South Omaha. I don’t remember his last name. Then there are a few friends from California that I’ve lost touch with that I would love to talk to: Lani Baker, Gretchen Martin and Ryan Thompson are among a few of them.

3. List five things you’d like to learn how to do. Well, practically speaking, I would love to learn shorthand. It would help me significantly at work. Personally, I’d love to learn more about html and sql. I would love to paint more pottery and get really good at it. I would most love to be a parent and I believe that whole process is a learning experience.

4. List five things you’d do if you won the lottery (no limit). I’d buy a large home on the outskirts of town. Close enough to make shopping easy, but far enough away to have a large lot of land to ourselves. I’d make sure that there was a cold room in the house for my husband and his computers. He’d have all the computer equipment he could possibly need. I would invest wisely and save for our future and our child’s future. If money were no object, I start the adoption process. Finally, I would make sure that my family and friends were secure and didn’t suffer for funds.

5. List five things you do that help you relax. At work I usually go to the ladies room and just park in a stall, sit down and breath. Sometime the pace really gets to me here and if I don’t break away from it, I drown in it. At home I really don’t have to do anything. Home is my sanctuary. I love it there. Once work rolls off of me, I really don’t have a care in the world. I will occasionally take a long, warm, bubble bath, or do some extra pampering (facial masks, paint my toes, etc.) and that is relaxing too.

Well, the man with the

Well, the man with the glove and the penny loafers has made it onto everyone’s blog. I suppose it is my turn now. I only have a couple of things to say:

1. In America everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I don’t care how weird you are, how effeminate you are, how much plastic surgery you’ve had, if you have nicer hair than I do, etc…We don’t know the facts people. Until we know the facts and a jury makes a ruling he is innocent.

2. News that, perhaps, we should be more concerned about:
*Powerful blasts kill at least 27 in Istanbul
*Solar storm sweeps over our planet
*Court OKs Wrongful Death Suit Vs Gunmaker
