Our First Home Improvement Project

We are painting this weekend! I’m so excited and nervous. I’ve never, ever, every painted before and we are going a little bold. I scanned the color samples, but it isn’t a very good replication…

These are a little darker than the actual colors. The neutrals are less green and the red is more of a dark brick.

I’m so very excited! Wish us luck.

Oh yeah, any of my local friends are more than welcome to stop by and give us a hand. I’m sure we’ll be working all day Saturday and Sunday!

A Little Side Note

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

This whole AVON thing is going pretty well, but I’m exhausted! Last night was my first “Sales Meeting”. It started at 5:30, so after working a 10 hour day, I raced out the door at 5 pm to go to my meeting. Three hours later (9:30 pm), the meeting comes to an end. By this time I’m starving and I’ve lost all ability to focus. Before the meeting started, my team invited me to dinner afterwards. I agreed, but none of us knew that afterwards would be at 10 pm, for crying out Pete. So, we all ended up at Village Inn and I got home around 11:30 pm. I was dead on my feet. Like a zombie, I put on my p.j.’s, locked up the pets and headed to bed…

I get half way up the stairs and OH CRAP! We are having a potluck today at my day job and I promised to make “Red, White & Blue Salad”. So, I trudge back downstairs and this isn’t a terribly easy task, mind you. First I had to bake a pound cake. Why, oh why didn’t I just buy a pound cake? Sliced strawberries up the wazoo. Made the Jello and an hour and half later went to bed. The topping still needed to be made, but since the Jello had to set for 4 hours, that was going to wait until morning. Thankfully, my handsome hubby showed up in the middle of prep and helped me out.

I think it was close to 2 am before I got to sleep, but I’m not sure. I don’t even know when I went to bed. I was trying to cut out caffeine, but today, that just isn’t going to work for me. I hope my boss stays on schedule and catches his early flight out today, so I can get out of here an hour early.

On the upside, I submitted about $100 in sales for my first order and I only had 4 days in the campaign to get the sales turned around. Now, I’m only 2 days into the current campaign and I’ve got +$100, with almost 2 weeks left to make more sales! Wahoo!!! President’s club, here I come. :)

BTW Scott – Mrs. Albee…

Never Fear, The Avon Lady Is Here

*clears throat*

HEAR YE! HEAR YE!
(Okay maybe that was a little over the top) :)

For those of my internet friends that saw my AVON announcement but immediately became disheartened because they lived in another state and wouldn’t be able to utilize my services as their personal representative…well you can dry your eyes. (Still a little too dramatic?) You may order your avon products through my AVON website and request direct delivery.

Note to my friends that are just a city or two away…go with your method of preference. Order from me directly or from the website and request representative delivery and we have one more reason to get together!

PS – I’ll try to keep AVON “pushing” at a minimum on my blog, but right now I’m really excited! So, I can’t make any promises. ;)

Eat Your Heart Out, Jerry Springer

Like good kids we visited my Dad on Father’s day. A visit to Dad’s is always an experience to say the least. I think the highlight of this visit happened on the way to visit a friend of my Dad. On the way there we passed by the local correctional facility. As we neared the facility my Dad and Teresa (step-Mom) started waving and told everyone in the car to wave at my step-brother…in jail. So all five of us, including my 4 year old nephew, drove past waving at the jail house.

Ding Dong, AVON Calling…

Guess who just started moonlighting as an AVON representative? Yup, you guessed it, it is your’s truly. I’m excited. I don’t really expect to make a lot of money (albeit that would be a nice plus), but I just think it is going to be fun. I’ve always loved shopping AVON…so why not sell it? It is crazy how much they offer now. It isn’t just make-up. There is an entire “wellness” catalog; Complete with vitamin supplements, sport & diet shakes, relaxation therapy, fitness equipment, etc. There is an inspirational catalog with various scripture engraved jewelry, bible covers, framed scripture quotes, etc. In addition to the standard AVON catalog that everyone is used to, there is an Outlet catalog with some seriously discounted stuff.

Wanna buy some fun avon stuff? Just give me a shout at avonjeni@mikeandjenifer.com. I’ll hook you up! :D

I’m balanced…

HASH(0x8a50bdc)
You are the color turquoise. A fairly tempermental
person, you’re either upset or tranquil most of
the time. You can be as calm as your color.
You’re a mysterious person, yet somehow
outgoing. You’re balanced, simply put. You’re
somewhat bold. You’re generous and
sophisticated–but never ever snobby. You’re
lively and rich in personality and attitude.
You’re a beautiful person, aside from the fact
that you’re a perfectionist and painfully
honest. But life is good to you!

What color are you? (Amazingly detailed & accurate–with pics!)

Oi, What a Day

Sometimes I truly feel like I’m being drawn and quartered. I know people think being an administrative assistant is an easy desk job, but they obviously haven’t done it. Trying to meet the deadlines….Answering the phones… Being the “go-to girl” for everything and everyone… Coming in early just so I can get 5 minutes with the boss before the world quakes beneath me…Working all day without a lunch break…Without any break…Staying late…And doing it with a !@#$ing smile. I got news for you, it ain’t easy.

The reward? Falling into my husband’s arms when I get home dog tired.

It’s Yo Birfday!

Sunday Brunch

1. How do you usually celebrate your birthday? I used to have a party with Firebrand as we share the same birthday, but as I get older, it becomes less important to celebrate. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind getting older at all, the celebration has just changed.
2. Do you ever lie about your age? No, but sometimes I forget what it is!
3. What is your favorite flavor(s) of cake and ice cream? It’s all good.
4. Have you ever completely forgotten the birthday of a family member or friend? Yes, I’m lousy at remembering birthdays.
5. What was the most memorable birthday party you’ve attended? Hmmm, the only one I can remember was a karaoke birthday for Firebrand and I.

From last Saturday’s blogmaze:

First stop – Hunny Hive – Adorable blogplate. I related to a small tid-bit in her last post too. I went to the Military Ball every year through high school. I never went to the prom. I went to homecoming only once. I don’t think most bloggers even know what the military ball is.

Second stop – Rockchild – This intereting blogs starts off with a great one-liner. “Some people might think it’s funny but I’m not joking because its all true like Bigfoot and stuff.”

Last stop – Atypical Female – I love any and all blog-plates with flowers. This would be no exception.
