Well, I was a few days late. That isn’t anything unusual for me…I’m never on time, so I didn’t really want to jump the gun. This time was, however, a little different. I was feeling some things happpening that just don’t feel normal. I felt some twinges or tickles in my ovaries or uterus or somewhere in that general direction. My nails had been growing and that NEVER happens. Something about me just felt like this time might be different. So, I woke up on a Saturday morning and walked to Walgreens. I knew this trip well. Since we’ve were trying to get pregnant for over a year and we had been BBT charting for 5 months plus I’m rarely on time, I’ve purchased quite a few tests in the past year. I walked home, preparing myself for the usual negative response.
Mike works nights, so I did this all around 7 am, so I didn’t have to get him involved in the roller coaster again. The excitement of the possibility dashed by the repetitive negative result. So, I proceed to pee on the stick. I put the cap back on and I watch as the results start to make themselves known.
Almost immediately, I see it. I can’t believe my eyes. It can’t be right, can it? Has God answered my prayers?

So, I grab the stick and the paper that shows you what the test results mean. As I climb the stairs I’m screaming in a whisper…”Mike”…”Mike”….so I get around to my side of the bed and climb in next to him, whispering his name. Finally he wakes up. I put the stick and the paper in front of him and say, “I think we are pregnant.” I show him the results, he looks at it and says, “It looks like you are right.” I just lay down next to him and sob. This is one of the happiest moments of my life.
Later…
If you could only keep ONE memory out of all the things you remember, which one would you choose?
Here is the beginning of each of the following questions…..
‘If you had your choice between this and that, what would you do?’
My responses in bold:
I’ve neglected this poor blog until the page has become empty. I’m so sorry. Life has been a little crazy. I have a schizophrenic boss that works from 6 am-9 pm and would like me to do the same. One difference, however, I don’t make a few hundred grand a year so he can jump into the lake. I have been working about 11 hour days just to try and keep up. So, in addition to 11 hour days, I’m working very hard to build my Avon business. That is going pretty well. My first order was about $100, my second order was about $200 and my third order around $300. So, there is a steady incline and I just did a small “daycare” mail drop that I hope will pull in some new business. The craziest part is that I don’t have a single customer in my state. They are all in another state and a few are about 50 miles away. I work in that other state, so it was easy for me to pick up customers there.
So, we between the great painting project, 11-hour work days and being the Avon Lady of your dreams, I’ve been a little to stretched to pay proper attention to my blog and readers.
I’m sorry and I miss you. I’ll try to be better.
The living room is finally finished and I think it turned out well. I forgot to take “before” pictures but I have some pics where you can see the “old living room” in the background. Hopefully you can get an idea of what it used to look like compared to now.
“Before” pix:
Old Living Room behind Baby (a friend’s bird that we babysit when they are out of town).
A very tiny piece of the room behind the pets.

To quote a good friend, “Oh my heck!” I’m so sore. There is so much left to do too:
TUESDAY
1. Retape all trim in entry way and on last unfinished living room wall.
2. Apply red paint to white space on unfinished wall and apply red paint to bare walls in entry way.
3. Check the time and add 4 hours for next application.
4. While waiting for red paint to dry remove tape from the finished walls & trim.
5. Apply tape above baseboard and around the quarter round.
6. Wash baseboards and let air dry.
7. Apply primer to baseboards.
8. After 1 hour apply a second coat of primer.
9. After 1 hour apply taupe paint to baseboards.
10. After 4 hours apply a second coat of taupe paint.
11. Apply a second coat of red paint to unfinished wall and entry way.
WEDNESDAY
1. In entry way and unfinished wall…apply tape above baseboards and around the quarter round.
2. Apply primer to baseboards.
3. After 1 hour apply second coat of primer.
4. After 1 hour apply taupe paint to baseboards.
5. After 4 hours apply a second coat of taupe paint.
6. When finished or during “down time” remove the rest of the tape from molding and trim and touch up, as needed.
THURSDAY
1. Finally move back into the living room and start on the dining room. *sigh*
Oh my…I had no idea just how much work this was going to be. We’ll be at it all weekend for sure.
So, here is a sneak peak of my handsome husband’s handywork:
And while uploading the picture, if found these pet pix too!
